Art Description

Painting: Acrylic, Digital, Marker on Other.

I've often wondered how a woman can dance and climb a pole naked for a crowd of male drunks; get down with her tits and crotch just inches from their leering faces. I went with a friend of mine, she was desperately in need of money, to audition as a pole dancer in a downtown Oakland bar. She wasn't a looker wearing coke bottle glasses, scrawny with stringy, blonde hair, with a gift for survival and a raw sense of humor. She removed her glasses to perform for the bar owner, a gesture which later helped blur the image of her groaning, hissing audience. I was so embarrassed for her, I couldn't look and later as I drove her home, she only hoped she'd find something else. Needless to say, I hope the Needless to say, I hope the viewer empathizes with the woman who, before a bunch of leering drunks, thrusts her naked body to "Let Me Entertain You".
