ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Old Trace is a painting of the old roads along the Natchez Trace. This road has worn sides with trees and vines hanging over it. The painting was created at sunset with light flowing through the thick forest. I used oil paint to create the late evening light and mystery approach along this century old Indian trail.

I was born in Natchez, Mississippi and raised in the country in Louisiana. As a child I was in spired by my Great Aunt Bonnie McLeary, who was a Sculptor in New York and Texas, Each summer my Aunt would come to visit and tell stories and show examples and pictures of her large sculptures. This was the beginning of my interest in Art. I have lived in Louisiana Mississippi and Florida all my life .I began developing and exploring through my paintings the landscape, seascape and people around me. For ten years I taught Art in Florida and Mississippi schools and exhibited and sold work in galleries in the southeastern United States. Today I reside in have a studio in New Iberia LA
