ABOUT THE ARTWORK

On my Silk Road Samarkand, Uzbekistan. This work from the "Tranzit" series was created during the period of my life in Kazakhstan. For the first time in my life, I found myself on the silk road in Uzbekistan. Almost a decade ago, in 1999, on my way to the Pamir mountains I was struck by the colorful cities, the architecture, deep history, beauty of the mountains, the magic shady gardens, local markets, pilaff in huge cauldrons, tandoor samsa and Libiosky bread. After many trips around the world, I was lucky enough to return to Central Asia and get inspired to include some of the works in my project Transit. This work was performed on the cardboard box that we used to move to our next country destination. I wanted to mark the beginning of a new stage with the first impression of the cities in which we found ourselves at that particular moment of life. Some kind of diary of an empty box. Traveling with a suitcase, looking for new experiences. Moving from country to country and changing completely the linguistic environment, customs, and culture, we gain invaluable experience. Each time with new baggage, deep memories, and fragile feelings. TRANSIT - in space and time through life.

Her urban landscapes show that strong emotional connection with the place she is living in that moment in time. Her motivation is to look for new effects, a new look at the expression of ideas, harmonious combinations of colors, shapes, a rhythm that cannot be repeated. Always looking ahead and going her own way.
