ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Storytelling Art will break down the barriers of graphic design and bring modern painting into the fusion universe! While the fusion of genres is one of the fundamental principles of all other art forms in order to explore new ideas, painting when I found it was still partitioning artists in very specific graphic styles (Street artist, cubist etc....) This is where the delay of painting on other art forms lies. The Impressionists were the first free painters to choose their designs and techniques and Van Gogh paid a high price. They paved the way for the fantastic graphic exploration of the last century: impressionism, fauvism, cubism, surrealism, action Painting, abstraction, POP ART , graffiti Art etc.... My obsession was to collide with my time and create a painting that had a real social and cultural impact, I decided to create my own movement STORYTELLING ART, and to achieve my goal I created a story with the theme: Man faces acceleration in a world dominated by numbers. its name:«Once upon a time the Comitive» This painting is extracted from that story.

CREATOR OF THE STORYTELLING ART THE CONTEMPORARY ART MOVEMENT OF THE 21ST CENTURY With the evolution of the medias these past fifty years, movement and narration became primordial in our way of thinking the world. The painter’s eye turned as a camera : it no longer takes fixed pictures but narrative sequences. The assembly of juxtaposed plans gives rise to stories that express ideas which are not in any plan taken separately. The whole is greater than the sum of their parts. This definition applies to a new art movement, named “Storytelling Art”. It invites the audience within a story in motion which can be followed or appropriated. The aim of the storytelling art is to build a bridge between the horizontality of a book and the verticality of a canvas, taking the best from these two worlds… It’s a new style of art which uses the sequencing of comics and the space filling of the contemporary art. Like in movies, each plan used is characterized by a number of design features: scale, framing, camera angle view … "I like to mix the styles, the techniques and the ideas. I combine, juxtapose every kind of images, I remix the clichés of the popular culture and the contemporary imagery, I broach every subjects and melt with abstraction and figurative. I work from different techniques, drawings, stencils but also from different materials: the acrylic to play with color surimpositions and the oil with big impasto, searching for the balance between the texture, the details and the color range. Hence, this is at this artistic crossroad that I developed this very unic style..."
