Patchwork Print

I am always inspired by color. I have always been attracted to the most colorful artworks, pictures, nature is so colorful as well. Colors just make me feel good. I absolutely love seeing how colors interact on the canvas. I will often start painting with a feeling or an emotion in mind. Other times, I just want to go ahead and experiment with different colors, contrasts, or both! In this painting the idea was to experiment with organic shapes contrasting against straight lines and straight geometric shapes. I also like to use fluorescent colors to give the painting a hidden side. When put under a black light you get a whole new look to the same painting. It is just like the saying: "Never trust first impressions". It is something we discussed in length with my art school classmates, its a discussion that really stuck with me through the years. It changed how I approach people and life in general, it's a saying that is important to me and this is the way I found to include it in my art and pass the word along.
