Juls began life in Uganda, her mother from Australia and her father from England. She grew up between Sydney, London and San Francisco. This early exposure to different cultures was instrumental in forming Jul’s fascination with drawing and painting. Juls had a brief stint at The Julian Ashton Art School in The Rocks and The Mary White House School of Design before settling in to University in Sydney where she started her degree as a painting major before switching to multimedia. This led to a successful 20 year career as a creative producer in filmmaking with the acclaimed Osama in 2004 and Hanyut in 2014. Later in life Juls set up home in Singapore and Malaysia and raised 3 children, her painting and drawing taking a back seat. Now back in Sydney and her children becoming more independent Juls once again can focus on her passion.
