"Psychedelic Pond #55" Painting: Acrylic on canvas Size: 47"x32"x0.8" (120x80x2 cm) Year: 2017 Style: Modern Contemporary This painting is from my new "Quiet Pond" series. This is an original, handmade painting. It is very intuitive. This painting was created in order to contemplate it for a long time, to find new images and associations. And at the same time, it can be perceived as more abstract, a thin web of plastic shapes, lines, and contrasting colors. This painting has been created in my personal original technique. My paintings reflect my love of bright and rich colors, the painting itself, different textile techniques that inspire me, and my love of lines and graphic elements. I always include spirals in my paintings. A Spiral is an ancient symbol of the universe, sun, development, and movement. Spirals in my paintings help me to create volume and unusual visual effects. I've created this abstract painting using a psychedelic palette of colors – violet, blue, light coral, light pink, blue-green and purple. My path began at the European Design School (Kyiv), which gave me an opportunity to explore painting and graphic design. That was a point when I got absolutely captivated by painting. My works used to show landscapes, women portraits and some abstract figures but most of all I wanted to paint something elusive, some sophisticated images and dreams. I experimented with different mediums, materials and styles, and finally have found my own way of expression. In my paintings I want to bring into vision some poems that impressed me, strange phrases or musical passages. I love a mysterious mixture of vibrant colours, lines and spirals. They symbolize universe, life, movement, sun, development. For me art is like a long and exciting journey to the unusual world. So, with my paintings I want to give people a piece of beauty, inquisitiveness and hope.
