About The Artwork
This is the second painting of the rabbit installation I am building in 2022/2023. For me, the pink circle represents the object of surveillance and aggression. It's as if the rabbit is being watched and controlled by some external force. It could be that I am trying to comment on the way that society constantly monitors and controls our actions and thoughts. The pink circle could symbolize the way that power and authority are imposed on us. I think the black rabbit could be seen as a symbol of marginalized or oppressed groups who are more likely to be targeted by surveillance and aggression. The pink circle represents the dominant forces that seek to control and suppress them.
