This lively red painting features a borzoi or russian wolfhound stretched out on a glorious pink and orange rug with a geometric design. Behind the dog a deep indigo blue sofa is adorned with cushions bearing citrus fruit and floral designs and the room is utterly crammed with plants of all varieties, hanging from the ceiling, resting on the floors, propped up on tables. A garden is hinted at beyond the room, through the long narrow paned windows but somehow, this inside world feels like enough. This Matisse inspired painting is on a flat piece of acid-free masonite board and was created using gouache and marker. It is unframed and will ship in a box, wrapped lovingly in layers of glassine and padding.
