ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Art Project «Seeing Music» * * * The artworks, part of the Art Project «Seeing Music», were widely covered by international art media and featured in Art Reveal Magazine (London, UK), Artfuly Magazine (Sydney, Australia), as well as in Artist Portfolio Online and Light Space & Time Magazine (Florida, US). * * * Also these artworks had deserved the Critique «Diana Malivani. «Seeing Music». Critical Analysis» by Christopher Rosewood, Art Critic and Member of the International Confederation of Art Critics (ICAC). * * * «Deep ochre and umber hues contribute to the cataclysmic and intellectually provoking juxtaposition between nostalgic and extant notions found within ‘Renaissance Music’, which at once evokes the unequivocal spirit of past eras with the lightness of William Byrd’s lilting arrangements for vocals and strings, whilst also reflecting the essence of modernity found in Marcel Duchamp’s paintings through their elevated abstraction and evocative transience. By modernising the traditional elements of Renaissance music, Malivani expands the limitations of creation as she visually translates a harmonious relationship between entrenched historical and contemporary academic ideals». «Diana Malivani. «Seeing Music». Critical Analysis» by Christopher Rosewood, Art Critic, 2019 (International Confederation of Art Critics. London, UK and Chianciano, Italy) * * * For the Artist, music represents an inexhaustible source of inspiration. One of the most difficult goals of artists depicting music on canvas is to convey its rhythm, brilliance, and uniqueness in abstract compositions. * * * More photos of the artwork as well as the relevant documents are available upon request (close-up views, the artists signature, in-context photos, publication copies, certificate of authenticity etc.).
