ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Resignation" is a picture that depicts a street vendor sitting and waiting for someone to pass and buy his merchandise. His expression, however, is not hopeful, but resigned to the fact that no one will stop at his stall, which deliberately is not represented as he has nothing to offer. The picture is therefore intended as an invitation to help fate, to act on reality in a constructive manner to direct events towards a favorable outcome. It makes no sense, in fact, to continue to wait seated for the blindfolded goddess to come, if we do not want to offer anything to the world around us.
