Camber Sands near Rye is a fabulous stretch of unspoilt sandy beach. It features one of the purest and longest dune systems on the South Coast, and the only one to be found in East Sussex. Camber Sands is one of the region’s stand-out beaches as it’s one of the few to have a sandy beach, with many of its neighbours being stone and shingle beaches. It stretches on for almost 5 miles, with the most popular section being the western end, by the mouth of the River Rother. Further to the east, the sands start to make the transition into shingle.
