Gonzalo Centelles is a multifaceted artist who was born in Barcelona in 1980, and despite his youthfulness he has a wide experience stretching over more than two decades. His principle disciplines are painting and drawing. His paintings have an unique personal style which is based above all on the observation of everyday scenes where he paints these situations with a certain irony and giving them a subtle sense of humour. Centelles defines his art style as a cocktail that brings together various artistic tendencies to give his work a tone of everyday life. All his art is very supportive in the use of colour which sometimes can be daring by using an exhaustive play on chromatic interactions which draw the attention to the observer. Also what stands out is his search for impossible perspectives that surprise the observer with audacity and courage is something remarkable. Technically Centelles has always been an artist with a great quantity of pictorial talent but in the same way he’s always been a perfectionist with his own work using a high level of self determination, which sometimes leads to experimentation.
