ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Salome is another in The Medusa Project series. The black censor bar reappears to signify the abject humiliation and oppression that women have faced since time immemorial. The New Testament in the background is to give context to her story, and the crown of bloody roses represents the heads of the men she decapitated. Again, she had no facial features to signify the dehumanisation of women.
