ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“Scrutiny” series came to my mind when I was in search of something that would satisfy my emotions, brain, and creativity. I was worn out and tired, in search of a subject. I followed the heart, wherever it led me. With the careful observation of Dervish and its history, “Scrutiny” came into a creation that is very close to my heart. Each painting is made with a different mood capturing a strong connection of viewers with the visible direction of the theme through Quotes written on few and the rest left for the viewer’s imagination. Scrutiny series is created to enlighten the walls of many. Looking Past the Obvious, Close Observation & Engagement Of The Subject Is My Process Of Creation.

Qazi Shaharyar Akhter is a self-taught Visual Artist based in Karachi, Pakistan. Shaharyar started off by learning basics from YouTube followed by painting and sketching other's artwork that he found easy. Soon, he added his creativity element to each work and mastered the art of adding his "touch" to the canvas. What sets him apart from other artists is that he adds a certain flair to his artwork that depicts vividly. He explores new styles of expressionism and delivers the mix of Sufism culture with his very vibrant and captivating acrylic knife strokes on canvas. His series of paintings, named "Scrutiny" is inspired by Rumi and his surmising leaves the on-looker with an intriguing vibe that builds curiosity in them to read about the dervish. What else can you expect from an artist who is widely inspired by the greatest of all time artists, Salvador Dali, Van Gogh, and Picasso? From producing portraits to mesmerizing abstracts, calligraphy, and art prints he finally found his niche that lies in acrylics. In 2017, Qazi Shaharyar was awarded 2nd place Award of Excellence in the group show sponsored by the IBA, Youth Arts & Literary Exhibition and his work is being exhibited at Port Grand, Karachi. Want your guest to be captivated as soon as they enter your living room? Well, his paintings will do the work as each speaks for itself.
