My name is Asmik. I have an academic background in fine arts, but I currently work primarily in contemporary art. My main focus is graphics and painting, but I also create objects, sculptures, and installations. For me, art is a way to directly engage with the unknown—through artistic practice, I materialize the hidden, translating it into feelings, emotions, and the body, which is much harder to deceive than the mind. One of my key methods is the search for patterns—both visual and psychological, external and internal—through automatic drawing, abstraction, ornamentation, and the repetition of elements. New ideas and patterns become pieces of an unfamiliar puzzle, gradually revealing themselves in the process. The sacred nature of the artistic process is essential to me—its regularity and seriality shape the way I work and explore new visual languages.
