ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The painting of the Buddha statue sitting in a cross-legged position was inspired by my teacher's house, in the neighbourhood of Batubulan, Bali, Indonesia. We were looking at the beautiful flowers in her garden when we decided to photograph one of her statues that posed calmly, meditating among the plants. Buddha represents a moment of peace, stillness, joy and transparency of the souls, approaching a meditative state with peaceful waves in thoughts. The art is made on cotton paper, painted with a mixture of acrylics and watercolours.
