ABOUT THE ARTWORK

There are many reasons why this creation could be considered a spectacular work of art. Firstly its aesthetic beauty is unmatched and is capable of enhancing the beauty of any space in which it is set on display. The creation also conveys a deep meaning where the colored circles depict the presence of various societal rings. As it goes on to illustrate, the rings of different colors may be different when examined alone but they merge in various degrees which creates more beauty through togetherness and harmony. 10206-AB-IH

Irmi was born and grew up in Vilsbiburg, a small town in the south of Germany northeast of Munich. Through her humanistic - artistically shaped home (father was a member of an artist community throughout my life), she was introduced to contemporary art in her early youth through regular visits to the Pinakothek, the Haus der Kunst in Munich, galleries and art exhibitions, and her passion for it was awakened. After 6 semesters of design studies with Prof. Dr. Walter A. Heufelder, she finished the Otto Hufnagel; her art-oriented training and Irmi was awarded the Bavarian State Prize for the best thesis. After her apprenticeship as a ceramist, Irmi worked as an Art Director at Würmthal-Keramik in Munich and then opened her own design and ceramic studio 3 years later. Here, Irmi carry out various commissioned works for "Art in Construction", such as fountains or wall reliefs for entrance halls at kindergartens and shops. Through her acquaintance with some gallery owners, she got the offer for a permanent exhibition with Friedensreich Hundertwasser in the Hundertwasser gallery in Blumau / Austria, which had a great influence on her in form and color. After a break from work, due to the family situation and the care of the parents until their death, Irmi started painting, also as a reappraisal and to cope with the pain. Artistic processes are sometimes painful because Irmi let thoughts, feelings and sensations flow into her pictures - but it frees the soul. It is also essential for her that texture, shape and color harmonize in every picture in order to create a harmony between picture and viewer.
