I started my artistic activity from 1975. After a long figurative period of impressionist inspiration, using oil paint on canvases of small and medium formats, the year 2008 marked an orientation towards a more contemporary and modern. The use of acrylic paint on large formats, collages, acrylic spray on manually made stencils, is an integral part of a new period inspired by urban paintings. The degraded walls, the industrial wastelands, the perspectives of buildings, the stays in New York and in Vietnam/Cambodia… have been a real source of inspiration until 2020. The confinement linked to Covid 19 allowed me to see things differently. My painting has been simplified to become minimalist while reducing the palette to one or two colors. Since the summer of 2022, the inspiration of the sea, of the depths that I observed while swimming, gave birth to essentially blue works in which the liquid element is always present. Acrylic paint has gradually given way to pigments and inks which mingle to fill the cavities of the very thick mineral material affixed to the canvas. Recent paintings are a personal interpretation of reality that tends more and more towards abstraction.
