About The Artwork
Impressionistic landscape painting. I love dusk and dawn, and am busy with a series of paintings looking at the transient subtle light. many shades of blue, pink and grey work together, and many different types of mark making to create a textured and interesting canvas surface. I love to work with my canvas on the floor initially to build up many layers of watercolour like acrylic paints. Once the bare bones and structure of the painting is in place, I add lots more subtle colour and work with lots of different brushes, rags, palette knives to add colour and and different types of marks to the paint surface. This 120x180cm canvas has white painted edges, is unframed, and is strung with picture cord ready to hang. You will also receive a collection of six postcards of my artwork as a thank-you for choosing one of my artworks!

Currently Sandy sells and exhibits her work almost exclusively online, represented by Saatchi Art and other platforms. I work with landscapes, from which I draw my inspiration. The play of light and shadow, and the in-the-moment experience of absorbing the world around me inform my work. I am also drawn by my memories of a childhood spent outside, the visual impact and pleasure of that still resonates with me. I love colour and texture and in my work am always attempting to use these elements to create a harmonious balance. I enjoy working in an experimental way with different materials, I frequently throw paint at my canvas, and work with the canvas on the floor, dripping paint onto it. The spontaneity that gives me very valuable.
