While walking between showers I captured a photography of a couple strolling. The umbrella caught my eye and I realized it would make a great painting. I used oil paint and plywood to give it a old feeling with texture.

Born 1954 in Sarnia, Ontario,Canada my family moved to Ireland in 1960. In 1980 I moved back to Vancouver, Canada and embarked on a new journey. I studied Fine Arts at Simon Fraser University. I worked as a photographer in 1986 and photographed Princess Diana and Charles at the Russian pavilion. After Expo I moved into the film business for many years and always loved art so in my spare time I painted. I am influenced by my travels around the World and living in Ireland,England,Germany,France and Canada. Ireland and France have had large influences in my later years and some third world countries have influenced my style and subject matter. I was always interested in art and started painting thirty years ago.
