About The Artwork

This work is inspired by Edvard Munch’s painting “On The Operating Table” which is a self-portrait after he shot himself on a finger because he was rejected by his lover Tulla Larsen. The shape of a bloodstain references his most famous painting ‘The Scream’” but inside the bloodstain another face can be perceived screaming.
