ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The warm golden glow of the summer's day sun ( represented by gold ) meets the cool crisp light of the winter night's moon ( represented by silver ). This is over the infinite blackness of the starlit sky. The black ripples that underlie the whole piece, ( and provide the foundation for the layers on top), represent the ripples, the road-bumps, that we come across in life. This piece was created by many many layers of acrylic black, gold and silver over many many days. Leaving the work to dry and cure between layers. Many layers of gloss clear pouring medium were also used, to add incredible depth and also a final deep sheen. The final high gloss can be seen on the later photographs. This layering technique was employed to create a sense of optical depth, that plays with the light as very interesting effects are created as light hits the work at different angles and times of day. This fits the over-arching theme of light : moon light : sun light. Light is life.

* Painting is my meditation. * Painting is my saviour. * Greatest Influences : William Turner, Leonardo da Vinci, Salvador Dalí, Gerhard Richter, Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter ( deserves mentioning twice ). * Draw inspiration from : nature, travel, all that surrounds us, The One Infinite Creator. * Preferred medium : My first love was oil paints, but when I moved into abstract, I reluctantly transitioned to acrylics, because the kinds of Impasto effects I often try to create are not suitable for oils. The gold, silver and other metallics I also find more pleasing to the eye in acrylics. * Stretched Canvas vs Canvas Board : I love to use deep edge stretched canvases, but sometimes I use canvas board when I will be using higher pressures to apply paint and/or applying a high quantity of paint in a short time for an extreme Impasto effect. * Conceived : Saudi Arabia. Parents were working in Saudi, but there was not much else to do. Damn hot and no TV. Hence, "Manufactured in Saudi Arabia". * Born : Denmark. ( 'Danmark', in Danish ) The country of the mark of the tribe of Dan. * Nationality : Danish. * Commenced drawing : as soon as could hold a pencil. * Commenced serious painting and artistic tutelage : age 10. * Education/Artistic-Tutelage : The United Kingdom. * Really Grew Up : Whilst travelling the world. * Non-conformist at heart. * Old Soul. * Averse to social media. * Alarmed at worldwide addiction to microwave emitting touch screen mobile devices, especially when in the hands of children. * . . .
