Takeshi's Castle Print

This is a painting of a photograph that I took in London. It's a refraction in a series of mirrors but oddly it reminds me of Takeshi's Castle, which is a Japanese extreme gameshow. The figure at the top of the image is bravely and perilously navigating their way over a fiendish obstacle below. I enjoy the way in which an abstract image like this can trick the mind into making outlandish leaps, based on its own scrapbooking over the years. Takeshi's Castle was tucked away somewhere in mine. But what about your's? I believe that photography is a great tool but only painting can transcend what is, and become more. More contemplative, more substantial and ultimately more collectible. The painting is a one off, created with textured oil paint on heavy canvas. The canvas is currently un-framed and un-stretched.
