I am an English artist living and working in Vietnam since 2012. The Covid lockdowns gave me time and space to rediscover the artist I had hidden away for nearly - 20 years and it is like being re-united with yourself. This recent time also brought a new awareness of the plight of our endangered species and I recognised that I can help to raise awareness of their beauty by painting them in a new way. Endanged animal paintings are part of my 'Red dream series' in which scarlet is the dominant colour and I employ a contrast of naturalistic painting and abstract patterns and forms.
