ABOUT THE ARTWORK
17.5 X 24.5 watercolor portrayal of Willie Mays' famous over the shoulder catch in the 1st Game of the World Series between the New York Giants and and the Cleveland Indians. The game took place September 9, 1954 at the Polo Grounds historic ball park in upper Manhattan. After the catch, the amazing turning throw to the infield kept runners from advancing. The Giants won the game 5-2 in extra innings.
