ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Since the beginning of the First War, women have played a significant role, from the battlefield to medical services. I created this art as a visual tribute to the women who, before my military duty in Vietnam, had already demonstrated their sense of duty and protected our freedom and way of life. The maternal instinct combined with warfare is a dynamic combination, and women on military assignments have, on countless occasions, made a significant difference. The images I created are a surreal version of women standing their posts, standing their positions all over the world, in honor of their vigilance in serving a grateful nation. From air support to blending in the jungle or manning the skies, women have always stayed "On Point." I hope my art gives a sense of the dedication and sacrifice of all women who have served, as they bravely answered the call. In honor of those women, including my mother, a US Army Colonel in WWII who paid the ultimate sacrifice, I, as an artist and a veteran, represent a grateful nation.

As a veteran (US Navy, Vietnam) and a seasoned artist for 30 years, I treasure the ability to create works of art that evoke the senses of calm and reflection. My latest creation, a series known as "Vibrant Nature & Universe Sensations", celebrates nature and its grace. I work in a variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolors, and pastels, and my art style is diverse, ranging from traditional to contemporary, abstract, and figurative. I often combine my skills in medical illustration and art cosmic textures. My art education journey began at the age of seven and continued with studies at the Art Center College of Design and a drafting process during my tour of duty in the US Navy. I am honored to have won first place in the Western Region VA Arts Competition for five years and to have been invited by the Los Angeles City Hall to display art within the Mayor's office for three years. My experience in interior design and the coordination of outdoor and special exhibitions sets me apart, showcasing my versatility and commitment to the art world.
