ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Eye of Horus, also known as Wadjet, Wedjat or Udjat, is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health. The Eye of Horus is similar to the Eye of Ra, which belongs to a different god, Ra, but represents many of the same concepts. The painting is a visualisation of Ra's eye. The composition is an agglomeration of shapes and colours. Material used: sand, acrylic and paste. Dark Blue Marine combined with Galactic Blue Ink. Reflection based on Grey Metallic. Black royal combined with pouring liquid just to give the right transition over the shapes and forms. Cubic sand and paste added in different layers. The size of the painting is standard 100cm(H) x 100cm(W) x 4cm(deep) Located in the middle of the room, the eye captures every state of the viewer. It induces a state of calmness and good mood. Blue in combination with metallic gray over a blanket of gold and black sand are all the elements necessary to transfer you to a world of ancient Egypt.
