ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My work is inspired by classical buildings in the landscape. The images I use are taken from English country estates and their garden buildings and follies. I paint in the traditional old masters technique of layering and glazes adding drips and texture in a a contemporary style to give the painting a look of time passing and in some cases a feeling of decay. I paint on a chunky canvas with the sides coloured to blend with the colours in the painting. The painting is varnished to a satin finish and signed on the back (happy to sign the front if requested). The painting had D rings and cord and is ready to hang. If the customer prefers they can frame it, the choice is theirs.

I was born in Buckinghamshire and brought up in the grounds of Stowe School, a beautiful setting of lakes and temples. After completing an Art Foundation Course at Farnham, West Surrey I attained a degree in Fashion and Textiles at St Martins School of Art. Working as a textile designer in London, New York, Hong Kong and India I finally set up a design studio in Melbourne, Australia where I lived and worked for six years. Returning to England in 2000 I decided to work as a fine artist alongside my commercial work.
