ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My calligraphic paintings are based on historical gothic letterforms, which are used together with an extensive glossary of abstract glyphs. Heavily founded on traditional skills, the joy of writing and love of letters leads me to explore type as pattern, and texture. My work is founded on hands on drawing skills, and the passion and conviction that Letters are aesthetic, expressive vehicles in their own right, beyond conventional perceptions.
