“Whan that Aprill with his shoures soote The droghte of March hath perced to the roote, And bathed every veyne in swich licour Of which vertu engendred is the flour;” I was inspired by Geoffrey Chaucer's introduction to his famous work The Canterbury Tales. I thought of spring cheer that carries hope, nourished thoughts of revival and reinforcement of spirit weakened by winter slumber. Erotic passions are also reignited - poplar buds, strong and powerful, burst in explosions of green fireworks heading for the sun and the sky now. This is the reign of April, a might mood for rebirth. Sides painted white. Ready to hang.
