About The Artwork
An oil painting on wood panel of a scene of ambiguity in reflections, light and shadow. Inspired by my local surroundings of Hampstead Heath in London and in this case, the pond below the Viaduct bridge. I am interested in evoking something additional to that which we record with our eyes when we find ourselves in a landscape. The painting is built up in layers using traditional highest quality oils on Russian Birch Hardwood panel that has been dried thoroughly in a domestic setting.
