The Ways of Nature Print

In my teens I would go for long hikes in mountains, sleep by campfire deep in forests and close encounters with wild animals would make me feel more connected with essence of life on this planet. Ancestral memories deep in our flesh understand priorities differently when in nature. Our lifestyle guided by technology is very different than when guided by changes in land, wind and the sky. Old stories start to whisper from under our skin and seeing beauty all around seem to be much easier. Gratitude and awe is the most natural response. When I paint those feelings start emerging and take over. Often I wonder of results after work is done as if it happened by force of forests I enjoyed to wonder through so much. Immediacy of Monotype is letting movements to come from deep withing and transfer through hands on surface with more flow than when working on any other porous surface. Painting process than becomes very visceral experience so I hope for visceral experience in a viewer as well. I wish that experience of observing my work would be more as a stroke of wind over the skin and the smell of grasslands and ancient forests.
