Hello, I would say from a very young age I was attracted to color. I notice it in everyday life. I can see a mango in the grocery store, and immediately want to rush home and paint the progression of colors from green to vibrant pink. Originally I was doing a job where I chose paint and design colors for clients homes, when one day I found a canvas in my garage, bought for another reason. I picked up the canvas and started painting right there in my backyard while my kids were splashing around in the kiddie pool. I was obsessed, and was signed to a gallery a few months later in Bergamot Station Santa Monica Ca. That was 15 years ago, I have since raised my kids, pulled out of galleries to go back to school, and completed my RN. I have one kid at UCLA, the other at Stanford. Through all these years, I've never stopped painting, nor could I stop painting...these large abstract art pieces! Sometimes my home is full of them when the art is just coming out of me. I recently decided to reemerge myself in the art world.. my kids are in college now, and I want to pour myself into my art full time. The more I paint, the more I want to paint, the more I have to say. This is what I'm meant to do, and it's what makes me the happiest. My process is tedious and neurotic, I literally start a piece with maybe some colors in mind, no other plan, and once I start I can't walk away. I will paint for hours and hours and finally look up and realize how much time has passed. I am usually completely covered in paint and drained when I pull myself away. Once a piece is "done" I hang it up in my house and watch it for a period of time. Sometimes BAM.. I know what I need to do to complete the piece,I see what I felt was off, or other times I realize it really is done! I hope you love the pieces, and make them a part of your life, of your home, of your family and history over time. I have a few pieces I wasn't able to part with over the years, and they are a part of us now, and I couldn't imagine them not being on our walls. It wouldn't be home. I think the pieces add so much to a room, they have color, yet they don't overpower the space. The textures evolve throughout the day with the changing light. These are heavy, high end pieces with a handmade canvas, and handmade frames of birch wood. I also offer prints on my website. I'm currently working on a black series that will be posted soon!!
