Alfred Nobel made many chemical advances in explosives with his most popular being dynamite. For all his advances in military armaments, Nobel felt incredible ashamed of the destructive use of his inventions after reading an incorrect obituary for him saying the "Merchant of Death" is dead in 1888. Nobel wrote his will several times in order to create the Nobel Peace Prize. The award goes to those of scientific advancement of mankind, peace and other notable achievements of good will and advancing pacifism globally. By this change in his will, Nobel went from being the Merchant of Death to a great statesman of good will of humans. One of the latest winners, Liu Xiabo of China was prevented by Communist Chinese government to collect his award. Many authoritarian single party governments have prevented the acceptance of the reward including Nazi Germany, and military dictatorship of Myanmar. So by its actions, China is saying it is an extremist military dictatorship with little respect of human rights. From witnessing the Fall of the Berlin Wall inside the Iron Curtain to seeing the National Strike in Spain or the launch of the Euro in Brussels, history and politics dominant my themes. My art process is two-fold. Occasionally, the whole image springs forth like Athena from the head of Zeus while in others the image develops through the painting process itself. I strive to always develop my talent, master new styles and move to new direction similar to Picasso's development. A title must be meaningfully and the art must never repeat itself. I mastered my initial style under the tutelage of Tom Thomas in the Indiana cornfields.
