ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In my work I portray the people, architecture, plants, animals and patterns that are so unique and characteristic of the country of Yemen. In this painting 'Tribute to a King' I drew inspiration from the gouache paintings that Paul Klee made of mosques during his time in Tunis in 1914. The image in this painting has a dream like atmosphere - like a Fata Morgana. It carries you to a different world.
