Briefly speaking. I’m a solo mum to three and grandma,two have fled the nest the youngest is still home he is autistic and I’m his carer too. I’m hitting 50 next year and after many bumps in the road trials and tribulations I can now commit more to my art practice. My situation dictates my art from what materials I can afford to the subject matter. My art is a combination of places I’ve lived from rough council estates to new build estates, I’m still in social housing, the people I’ve encountered the experiences I’ve had and still have as a solo parent. Poverty hardships bad relationships The adversity’s I’ve faced and still face to be taken seriously as an artist, there is still unfortunately stigma around solo parents. Even though I fought through adversity to get my art degree. I’m influenced by German expressionism,film noir, kdramas, music I can’t paint without music on as I’m very physically with my painting style I hope my art has a honesty to it and people enjoy it
