About The Artwork
The Tuhawaiki Point Lighthouse or Jack's Point Lighthouse stands near to Timaru at the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It has amazing views and is a beautiful walk along the coast. This seascape focuses on the lighthouse with a gold leaf "light" and gold sailboats. The surf has whitecaps and small gold highlights. This elegant palette of is a denim blue, pure white and some greys with gold. The gold leaf changes and shimmers in the change of lighting. This artwork is unstretched and ships on a roll. The white, black or wood frame will all work for this artwork - or select canvas stretching for a clean simple elegance. The total dimension of the unstretched canvas is 29.9 x 84.2 inches or 76cm x 214cm -so allowing for a 6cm edge to wrap around the stretcher. I paint, I create and make things that make me happy. Sounds simple enough... but maybe that's what it should be. I was born in Ireland, grew up in Zimbabwe and have lived in the UK,USA and Australia. Meeting new people and exploring where I live inspires much of my work. I create in a medium appropriate to the inspiration. My artwork finds expression in oils, acrylics, charcoal, mixed media and glass. I use print making, stenciling, texture, fabric and transfers to create multi-layered tactile pieces. You will find my unique artwork in offices, hotels, homes, bars and restaurants in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, China, Singapore and Southern Africa. I have 14 years of experience consulting on various international projects where the work was created to specification as the majority of the projects required custom made artwork. I understand how to evaluate and select materials that align with aesthetics, compliance and individual needs. I am very comfortable with collaborating on a brief and love the cross pollination of ideas that result from co-designing art work.
