About The Artwork
From the Listening to Water series: Truth carries with it the inevitability of turbulence. Whether for the teller or the listener, each feels trepidation at what is being revealed. For the teller, the Truth is a release that must happen in order for the turbulence to subside. For the listener, the Truth is the catalyst for turbulence. In the listening a release from the turbulence can be found by striving to hear the words, not the emotions they are evoking. A neutrality of emotion in both the teller and listener will calm the turbulence . . . leading the way for one to hear the Love that is present in the Truth. Layer upon layer of glazes of color and clear medium create the illusion of depth . . . that one is in the turbulence of millions of tiny bubbles released as breath under the water. The gold leaf is Truth. The sides are painted, it is signed on the back.

The energy that exists in the visible as a wave crashing into the shore and the invisible as thought: its effect on us and how we affect it down to the quantum level. This is what I and my art are about. The pieces I create speak to hope, change, enlightenment, transforming and becoming better, weathering the storms and learning to swim within the chaos. They offer a way to embrace shadow and find the wisdom and the light within it. INSPIRATION & SERIES:: I am visually inspired by the rich colors of oceans, forests, and flowers . . . by the perfect curve in the shape of a wave, the winding tendrils of vines and how they connect to everything around them. I am intrigued by Space visually and metaphorically. Images from the Webb and Hubble telescopes utilizing UV and IR filters show us billions of galaxies and richly colored nebulae. Though separated by incomprehensible distances, they are the light within the darkness. For me, beacons of hope and possibility.
