About The Artwork
PORTRAITS POWERGALZ it´s my investigative series about the record of the human face is something that has intrigued me very early on, especially with the photos in our standard identification documents, where we are recognized by a small portion of our body, in this case, by the face. In this essay I choose actresses whose roles are heroines, in a kind of homage with contemporary inspiration, in terms of social achievements. The main idea was to register their familiaries faces in saturated conditions of light, color and tones, highlighting the main characteristics of each one (18 panels on the setup), if possible, trying to feed my chromatic palette as much as possible tones. All this series was executed in rigid 16mm Plywood, to give an emphasis on the industrial and urban aspect of this mine recent research work. PS: This series has been exposed to weather and has also attended several parties, meetings and exhibitions, so all have a long exhibition milestone route, just like an Urban Art on a wall, promoting wear and tear, and in some cases, grooves, impact marks and paint stripping and fadings.
