ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by the village square in Vence, France. My hope is that the viewer will enjoy the playful and bright colors of French Mediterranean villages. I enjoy the impressionist style because I believe it captures the essence of European villages.

I am originally from Virginia. My father was a musician and a conductor and my mother was a singer and an artist. I am married with three children and have lived in southern France, Germany and New England, for the past 20 plus years. I studied art for a total of seven years beginning in ballet at the North Carolina School of the Arts and then moved into fine art, with an emphasis in photography. I have traveled extensively to include the former Soviet Union and other parts of Europe. I have photographed a great deal of Europe and enjoy impressionist painting and expressionism. I live in the beautiful midcoast region of Maine, which is an artist playground. I travel frequently back-and-forth to the French Riviera where I used to live and work.
