"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." Edgar Degas Artistic expression has been ingrained in Persian culture since as early as 3500 BC., when biological subjects, simplified into patterns, represented the formative principles. Through millennia, in Persia and beyond in the wider world, this form of communication has allowed the man to record the wonders of mother nature and all her creations. Following the family tradition of craftsmanship in her hometown of Esfahan, Iran Noush Sanatgar has created numerous series of work, covering a variety of themes in a unique and interesting style. This exhibition is dedicated to art inspired by nature. Unlike traditional landscape art, her contemporary style explores an unseen natural world. Noush's work is an expression of what she perceives, often in abstract form. It considers the lifespan of organisms, the evolution of ecosystems, touching on creation, development, death and regeneration. Through her work, she endeavours to provoke contemplation and engages the observer in a non-verbal conversation through her paintings. Every point in space has different intensity, which can be represented by black and white and all the grey shades between. Noush's paintings can articulate shapes by juxtaposing surfaces of different intensity; by using just colour, of the same intensity, one can only represent symbolic shapes. Colour and tone are the essences of painting as pitch and rhythm are of music. Noush sees the beauty in every colour, the night sky with shining stars (black), a blinding-bright daylight (white), beauty of life in the living body (red), harmony and healing power of mother earth (green) and the majesty of the sea (blue). She is an Interior Architect, Painter, Sculptor, Illustrator. Speaking Persian, English, Turkish.
