ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Whales are a frequent subject of mine. They are intelligent, mysterious, and sometimes dangerous (think Ahab). We nearly killed them all but they are recovering, thanks to Greenpeace and others. In this painting (the original is in a private collection) I was trying to depict--symbolically, anyway--the concept of an eternal paradise for these great creatures.
