About The Artwork
Inspired by many of the Florida Landscape Painters that came before me who tried to capture the beauty of Florida's wetlands. The Everglades with it's many unique inland waterways. Florida's beauty is also located in the center and northern areas of the State, including the panhandle where I spend 7 years in Tallahassee college at FSU and also in Gainsville, Florida at the University of Florida. I have traveled extensively and have painted many of Florida's beautiful parks and other secret places in the Keys. My primary medium is acrylic. I have also sketched many quick landscapes in graphite with a pencil as preliminary value studies for paintings I would later finish in my studio. Hi,welcome, I'd to like share some of my personal history with you! I'm a self-taught Florida Landscape painter, working primarily with oil & acrylics. I also like to experiment with abstract surreal renderings of Pop Art Portraits, Abstract Nudes & Figures, Still Life, and Florals. Original Oil/Acrylic Paintings, done in an Impressionist style, (but with an abstract/Expressionist touch.) Subjects primarily include Landscapes (Plein Air and imagined). I work in all sizes, from ACEO's to very large canvas paintings. The majority are back stapled gallery wrapped canvases, some are on wood supports. Additionally, I also paint Diptychs & Triptychs in various sizes. I enjoy painting and living a creative life. My work is best described as Abstract and Representational where reality and illusion merge into a single element of pure expression. I hope to express the beauty of God's creation with my brush and paints. Painting is my way of getting back in touch with that inner child. Thanks again for looking!
