ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Original Abstract Painting by LJLundy. Modern Abstract Art. ***** Title: When the Waves Crash Medium - Oil on Canvas Size – 18x14in (45.7×35.6cm) Year of Creation - 2019 Part of my Dreamscapes collection, "When the Waves Crash" interprets the feel of a dream of the ocean, gestural and fluid but with overreaching structure, representing the movement and emotion of the water in full flow. The paintings smaller size makes it more versatile and is ideal for those smaller spaces or as part of a home gallery wall, it would also make a wonderful unique gift for an art lover building their collection. -Using only high-quality oil paints on stretched canvas -The painting is signed on the reverse so the viewer can position the artwork any way they choose. -Sides of canvas are painted, varnished for protection and a beautiful shine, ready to hang. -A certificate of authenticity will be included. Please Note: -This is a one of a kind, original artwork. Although I will happily create commissions based on previous works and offer prints, each of my paintings are unique and not mass produced. -Colours may differ slightly from photos due to different monitor screens and settings.

Born in Durham, Laura-Jayne is an independent abstract artist who has lived in various places around the North East of England and currently resides in Sunderland with her partner, 4 cats and a house bunny. Discovering the freedom of painting and the expression of colour at a very early age, Laura studied art at school, receiving a Distinction in her GNVQ in Art & Design, with full intention to continue her studies. Unfortunately, this wasn’t to be and commitments to the family business and personal responsibilities took priority over schooling. Laura has built a career as a Colour Master Hair Stylist, with a genuine passion and true understanding of colour theory, which has influenced and aided her creative process on many occasions. Mainly self-taught, painting remained a big part of her life for over 15 years, but remaining in the background while building the business. As the years have passed, the obstacles faced have increased just as fast as Laura’s desire to return to her original passion for abstract art. Now with various health issues, making her career, and day-to-day life increasingly difficult, that freedom and expression of colour and painting has taken on a whole new meaning. Now able to devote more time to her art and begin offering her work to a larger audience, Laura hopes to share her vision of the world, and that others can see and feel the emotions portrayed on the canvas. Laura offers both original abstract art and commissions for anyone looking for a more bespoke artwork.
