ABOUT THE ARTWORK
this painting is called world on fire. It’s a stretched canvas and acrylic paint. I chose acrylic because it dries rather quickly and I have a very small studio nook to work in. This painting to me feels almost like below the surface deep inside yourself you can feel safe, but when you pop your head up out of the water, the world is still on fire around you, I think this painting is an expression of coping with the good and the bad simultaneously I think a good lesson to take away from Covid for sure. I love the juxtaposition of the blue and the orange playing both opposite and still completely complementary of each other.
