ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is inspired by colour fields and their interaction in the plane. To create the composition and generate a perspective, I used fine lines in graphite and pigment with zinc white to cross the colour fields and direct them towards the black point. This work arose from reading Kandinsky's reflections on the point and the line on the plane. It is a minimalist and abstract work. It is made with casein glue, graphite, pigments and acrylic on cotton duck canvas.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
