ABOUT THE ARTWORK

It is an abstract picture, but it has come to represent something that resembles a rock in a mountain. The black spots, I see them as small entrances drilled in the rock that can serve as cells to people who want to withdraw to meditate. I saw something similar in a mountain in Romania, where a man had lived and prayed and became sanctified. The work is not a realistic representation, but it contains the above idea symbolically. The picture is cool chromatically, simple, monochrome. Living extremely at the limit of human existence prompts the being into other realms of interiority upon receiving the vectors of spirituality. It is a solar image, for me, full of meaning, despite the harshness and the visual poverty. The ambiguity of some textures in the image invites the viewer to read the fairy tale and dream land, the unreal that bathes the whole story. The message is seriousness. It is a symbolic image, which talks about all the wealth of meaning that some people can experience. It is unframed. It is worked on canvas. A gray or white frame would be a good match for the art.

I have tried many painting styles and techniques over time. Now, I am more oriented towards exploring fine textures that we find in the real world, the richness of their diversity, seeking the expression of a world full of rich meanings, subtleties, but above all a serene vision of the world. So, I draw inspiration from the real world, but I like to transform it, adding quotes from it too, to express richness of spirit, metaphor, fantasy worlds. I am also interested in what is fragile, mince and insignificant.
