The picturesque coast beacons the voyages of courageous adventurers and intrepid sailors into unknown lands. The story of Amalfi sirens abound the region. Everywhere, the symbol of mermaids and sirens adorn the local shops and public spaces from Sorrento to Ravello and in the Isle of Capri. The painting is the amalgamation of the sketches of the various images of legendary sirens while I was visiting the Amalfi coast.
