Sidewalk and carpet weaving are one of the most archaic types of human activity inherent in Ukrainians. Her prudent and unhurried adaptation to her cultural requirements and aesthetic needs brought to her descendants invaluable treasures of spiritual and material culture. The sidewalk is like a code, a code that women weave, using pieces of old clothes in which people worked, sang, rested, went to church, grazed cattle. The sidewalk has absorbed the energy of more than one generation. Therefore, seeing them in Transcarpathia, they fascinated me with their color and texture. After that, I went on a mini-expedition through the villages to collect old, destroyed, dumped sidewalks. After all, now modern people, unfortunately, not understanding their value are replaced by "modern", "fashionable" carpets from mass markets. In my compositions, with the help of color, I give the sidewalks a new life, already in painting.
